In the long run, luck favours only the hard-working. Although the many failed attempts are almost never mentioned. Fortunate, then, is the person who has plenty of opportunities to seek their fortune (in our case, as a photographer). Maria Pichlmaier is one such person; as a divebase manager on the Costa Brava, she is able to go on photo hunts at her own house reef as often as possible in her spare time.
