Exploring the unknown: the ocean through the eyes of our finalists

A total of 3,025 photos entered the competition, of which 100 qualified for the online phase and received 389,112 valid votes. From the 35 images that stood out in the public voting, the expert jury selected the final winners.

With great enthusiasm and admiration, we conclude the 2025 edition of the FOTOVIDEOSUB Underwater Photography Competition – a year that once again exceeded all expectations (thank you!). In 2025, we saw an impressive participation of 3,025 photos that took us into the most surprising corners of the ocean. Each image told its own story, captured fleeting moments, and revealed the underwater world as it truly is: mysterious, majestic, and full of life.

The online phase, in which 100 outstanding images were selected, reflected our community’s passion and love for the sea. With a total of 389,112 valid votes, we witnessed how actively the public engaged in choosing their favourites, reaffirming our shared commitment to marine conservation and the beauty of the natural world around us.

The expert jury faced the demanding task of selecting from the 100 finalist photos, and 35 of them stood out in the voting. These images not only demonstrate exceptional technical skill but also powerful visual storytelling that conveys the beauty, challenges, and importance of the ocean in our lives.

FOTOVIDEOSUB 2025 was a tribute to the creativity, talent, and unique vision of every participating photographer. We are deeply grateful for their dedication and encourage them to continue capturing the magic of the sea. Every photo has the power to tell a story, inspire future generations, and raise awareness for the protection of the underwater world.
